The Australian Taxation Office (‘ATO’) has announced a temporary simplified short cut method to make it easier for individual taxpayers to claim deductions for additional running expenses incurred (e.g., additional heating, cooling and lighting costs), as a result of working from home due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Payroll information is sent to ATO either directly from your software, or through a third party – such as a sending service provider. It is now mandatory for all employers in Australia to adopt a compliant payroll solution from 1 July 2019.
You will no longer have to give your employees a payment summary for the information you’ve reported and finalised through STP.
